“トリガージュ”“トリガーメ”は、平和への願いである。
目の前の世界は、色にあふれ平和に見えても、遠くの国で傷ついている人々がいる。この現実、メディアを通し注視する日常。華やかさと害毒が、同時に共存する事実を表現している。自然発生的なアクリル絵の具のドロッピングに、意思を持って重ねる色が、鮮やかにエコーする世界観。
LaiQの色彩と自由な表現は、1960年代の本牧でアメリカの色、音、リズム囲まれて育ったことにルーツを持つ。本牧は、音楽、色、アメリカ文化の坩堝であり特別な場所であった。自らもドラマーである絵描きが、ドラムステックのように絵筆をストロークして奏でる色のエコーは、見るものにRhythmとFreedomを感じさせる。

2022 Solo Exhibition Statement
My paintings depict hope for peace in the world. We see the waves of lively colors and echoes of laughter from people here. In faraway countries, people are experiencing devastation. We watch them every single day in the media. We live on a planet where opulence and suffering exist simultaneously.
LaiQ has been creating complex abstract paintings since the 1970s. He has been working on paintings that challenge viewers from every angle. He creates “free” expressions infused with splatters of paint and colorful paint strokes. His art brings smiles and joy to viewers, expanding their minds and opening up their imaginations. His work is also reminiscent of the past but offers viewers the freedom to explore life. Please dive into the waves of colors and enjoy the moment with LaiQ’s artworks.
